Memory foam is visco-elastic which means that it responds to temperature change by becoming softer when it is warm and harder when it is cold. This means that at lower temperatures it is harder (more viscous), and at higher temperatures it is softer and bouncier (more elastic). After a fantastic nights sleep whilst staying with relatives who had one of these on their guest bed, I just had to have one! Found a bargain on Amazon from Viceroy Bedding. Delivery was prompt and we're delighted with the mattress topper. Last night was our first night and initially it did feel a bit strange and rather different from our normal old mattress. That didn't last though and we both had a lovely nights sleep, pity I had to get up! No aches or pains, completely refreshed! I'm after the pillows now too...
To be honest I wish that I had purchased this topper months ago. I would recommend having the 3 inch topper rather than a thinner one because I am convinced it gives more support to the back. As other people have stated on previous reviews on this item I just need to get some deeper fitted sheets. Not being a thin person I find I do not wake during the night when turning over and in the morning I am not stiff anymore. Having arithritus in my back and on the joints I would definatly recommend this topper, it has helped me so much and as I said I wish I had bought this a while ago.
