I bought this topper because my landlord didn't think I needed a new mattress, but every night I could feel the springs digging into me. Every night since I put the topper on my bed has been a blissful night's sleep! It really was the perfect solution to a problem I'd been putting up with for a while. I can no longer feel the springs at all. I had some reservations about whether to buy 3" or 2", but the 2" has solved the problem and my fitted sheets just about still fit over both the topper and mattress. Therefore I'd say that for most people, the extra spend probably isn't worth it.
The manufacturer and other reviewers do mention that when you first get the memory foam, there is an unpleasant smell and, although I noticed it, it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. After a couple of days I didn't even notice it at all and it cetainly should not put anyone off buying one of these toppers.
I can't speak highly enough about this item. I truly believe that buying one of these toppers was a better solution to an uncomfortable mattress than having my landlord replace it with another equally as cheap one.

I bought this recently from Curtains and Linens and LOVE it. The smell was horrible initially which was frustrating as I grew impatient after waiting 3 days with the smell still not gone. (They say above it's a strong plastic smell, but to me it smells just like really bad mold). Finally after airing it out 4 days and putting it on my bed with a bit of the smell still in there, a week later the smell was gone and the mattres felt GREAT. I didn't have to go through any 'adjustment' period.. it was comfortable from the very first night and I love snuggling into bed every evening. I'm so pleased with this purchase. It doesn't move around at all like another person said, and I'm also not rolling into the middle like another reviewer has listed (I'm betting that the mattress is part of that problem.. or perhaps the person's weight might play a role). I highly recommend this product.
